2023-2024 marks Steve Weiler’s third year as the Lead Endurance coach for the UBC Cross Country and Track & Field teams. The team has progressed considerably during his first 3 years, culminating in both the Men and Women winning the 2023 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships. 2022 individual XC medals were earned by Glynis Sim (gold) and Kiana Gibson (bronze); 2023 individual XC medals were earned by Katie Newlove (gold) and Andrew Davies (bronze).
In his first two years at UBC, Weiler has coached athletes to NAIA Track & Field medal performances in the 800m, 1500m, 3000m Steeplechase, 5000m, 10000m and 4x800m.
Since moving to Vancouver in August 2021, Weiler has coached athletes to Canadian Championship medals or National Team selection in the 1500m, Mile, 3000m Steeplechase, 5000m, 5k, 10000m, 10k, 10k XC and Marathon.
Before moving to Vancouver, Weiler coached for two decades in Ontario with success developing athletes across all Endurance running events.
