Vince Amodeo is currently in his second season as an assistant coach with the UBC men's rowing program.
In the 2019 fall season, Amodeo coached the lightweight men, leading the LWT 4+ to a silver medal at the Canadian University Rowing Championship in Victoria along with a bronze in the men's LWT 2X en route to the team capturing the national championship banner.
Prior to joining UBC, Amodeo was head coach at the South Niagara Rowing Club in St. Catharine's, Ontario. There, he helped build the junior program to include over 110 rowers who brought home plenty of hardware at various regattas across the region.
Amodeo also worked with E.L. Crossley's high school team at the South Niagara Club. Along with head coach John Ruscitti, the team won gold at the Men's U17 72kg 8+ at the Canadian Secondary Schools Regatta, a silver in the U17 72kg men's 4+, and a bronze in the U17 men's 4X, all in 2018.
Amodeo graduated from Blessed Trinity Secondary in St. Catharine's where he rowed for three years while also competing with the St. Catharine's Rowing Club.
In addition to his work with the UBC men's rowing program, Amodeo runs the junior youth performance Thunder Crew program at the John M.S. Lecky Boathouse.
