Biography
For the second straight season Manning played in every single game for the Thunderbirds in 2013-14. He finished the season with five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 28 regular season games. For his efforts he was named a Canada West Second Team All-Star.
Manning had an impressive rookie campaign with the Thunderbirds in which he was named to the CIS All-Rookie Team. He led all defencemen in scoring with two goals and 16 assists.
Prior to joining the Thunderbirds the Nanaimo, BC product had a standout career with the Vancouver Giants of the WHL. A former second round WHL Bantam Draft pick in 2006, Manning played five seasons for the Giants and left as the franchise record holder in regular season games played (310).
A puck moving defenceman, Manning had career WHL totals of 45 goals, 138 assists, and 183 points. He was invited to Canada’s World Junior Evaluation Camp in 2010, played in the WHL Super Series vs. Russia in 2010, and went to two NHL rookie camps (Philadelphia and Chicago).
A die-hard Montreal Canadiens fan, Manning is in his third year in the Sauder School of Business majoring in finance.
