Nate Fleming

Nate Fleming enters his first season as the full-time assistant coach of UBC men's hockey. His life as a Thunderbird has come full circle as the St. Albert, Alta., native played four years with the Blue and Gold before graduating in 2015.

The 2015-16 season saw Fleming suit up with the EIHL's Edinburgh Capitals. He returned to Vancouver the following year where he got a taste of being behind the T-Birds' bench as a volunteer assistant coach.

Fleming was back in the UK for the 2017-18 campaign, this time with the Manchester Storm. The forward then headed down under to play in the Australian Ice Hockey League with the Melbourne Ice where he concluded his professional career.

Last season, with Vancouver once again his home, Fleming put his teaching degree to use while also coaching a local bantam team.

Over the course of his four-year Thunderbirds playing career, Fleming scored 55 points (16 goals and 39 assists) in 102 regular season games. He also chipped in seven points in 11 playoff games.
