(As of June, 2026)
Cory Renfrew is entering his first year as UBC Men's and Women's Golf head coach in 2026-27, after serving in the role of program advisor the previous season.
In a year of transition where the T-Birds men's and women's golf teams combined to have just one senior on roster and consisted of nearly 50% first-year athletes, Renfrew helped guide the young squads to successful seasons in 2025-26 as program advisor.
The women's team continued their run of dominance in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, winning every CCC event, while also claiming banners at the Canada West Championship and Golf Canada University/College Championship. The men's team won every CCC regular season event, finished runner's up at both the Canada West and CCC championships, and third at the Canadian Championship.
One of the great Thunderbird golfers of the 21st century, Renfrew served as team captain and was a three-time NAIA First Team All-American while competing as a student-athlete at UBC. He's the only T-Birds' men's golfer to record the best scoring rating in the NAIA across an entire season, is the only golfer to be awarded the Bus Phillips Memorial Trophy for UBC Male Athlete of the Year (2008-09), and is one of only three golfers to be awarded the Bobby Gaul Memorial Trophy for UBC Graduating Male Athlete of the Year (2009-10).
Following his time as a student, Renfrew earned his PGA Tour Canada Card in 2012 and competed on the circuit for six seasons. In 2015 he qualified for the PGA Tour's Frys.com and Waste Management Phoenix Open, becoming the medalist in the former's Monday qualifier and making the cut in the latter. Renfrew is a PGA of BC instructor and coach who aims to build upon the strong legacy of golf on the UBC campus.
