Pete Buckley became the Thunderbirds Offensive Line Coach in 2024, following roles as Special Teams Coordinator, TE coach and assistant OL coach since joining the T-Birds coaching staff in 2018.
2023 saw two of his positional players recognized nationally as Lucas Robertson was named a first team All-Canadian at TE and Skyler Griffith a second team All-Canadian as a Special Teams cover player.
The Thunderbirds elite Special Teams play was also acknowledged in 2023 with Canada West All Star recognition for Kieran Flannery-Fleck (Kicker), Shemar McBean (Returner) and Skyler Griffith (Coverage).
Buckley also coached at the annual U SPORTS East-West game in 2024 as Team West’s Special Teams Coordinator.
Originally from the UK, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Birmingham City University.
Pete and his fiancé Jamie live in North Vancouver.
