2025-2026 marks Steve Weiler’s fifth year as the Lead Endurance coach for the UBC Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Cumulatively since 2021, UBC is in a dead heat with Laval as the most successful U SPORTS Cross Country program, highlighted by an incredible 2023 when both the Men’s and Women’s teams won the U SPORTS Cross Country Championships.
On the track, Weiler has coached UBC athletes to several program and NAIA records, as well as NAIA Championship medals in every endurance running event, helping UBC earn a string of successful team performances.
Weiler is also a Senior High Performance Coach with the Vancouver Thunderbirds (TBIR). Since 2021 he has helped athletes earn Canadian Championship medals and/or National Team selection in the 1500m, Mile, 3000m Steeplechase, 5000m, 10000m,10k XC and Marathon, with athletes representing Canada at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, 2023 Pan Am Games, 2024 World Cross Country Championships and 2026 World Cross Country Championships.
Before moving to Vancouver in 2021, Weiler coached for two decades in Ontario with success developing athletes across all Endurance running events.
