UBC & UVIC Rivalry Series: the Legends Cup
2018-2019 saw the launch of the new Legends Cup Series, in conjunction with the University of Victoria Vikes, and based on the long-standing and healthy athletics rivalry between the two schools:
"The sports rivalry between Victoria and UBC goes back to pre-1915. Starting around 1910 up until the 1930s UBC athletes would travel to Victoria in what was called the 'Victoria Invasion'. Very competitive, these contests included several sports and were important to the birth of UBC's athletic honour and spirit."

The annual Legends Cup culminates in a new trophy being awarded to either UVic or UBC based on a season-long series of competitions between our athletic teams. Winning teams are awarded points for each victory. At the end of each athletic season, the school with the most points wins the 'Legends Cup' trophy.
UBC is proud to have taken home the trophy and bragging rights in the rivalry series' inaugural 2018-2019 year. Congratulations to all of the athletes who participated!
LEGENDS CUP GAME DATES FOR 2019-20
Due to social distancing restrictions and event cancelations related to COVID-19, the last few events of the 2019-20 Legends Cup series were not able to take place. Because of this, the Legends Cup was suspended for the 2019-20 season, with no winner declared. Well done to all teams who were able to participate and good luck to both schools in the future.
