Before UBC: Attended the University of Otaga (New Zealand)...member of New Zealand’s men’s national team that competed in the first round of the 2009 World Championships (Oceania Zone)...member of the New Zealand U19 team from 2005-2007...captained the U19 squad in 2007...awarded the Prime Minister Athletes Scholarship in 2006 and 2007...earned a Bachelor of Science (Energy Studies major).

High School: Attended Otumoetai Secondary (New Zealand)...won New Zealand Secondary School Volleyball Championships in 2004 and 2005...won a silver medal at the 2005 Australian Secondary School Volleyball Championships and a bronze in 2004...also played basketball and was a member of the track and field team (high jump).

Family: His brother, Will, is the captain of the UBC track and field team.
