BREMERTON, Wash. –
Dylan MacDonald was the star of the show at the UBC Thunderbirds Men's Invitational, as he shot a blistering 199 (-17) to both win individual gold and break the UBC program scoring record for a 54-hole tournament. His performance included a 64 (-8) on the final round, which also tied the school's single-round record.
The fifth-year senior served as the high-water mark for the Thunderbirds, who finished with a team score of 841 (-23). The Ottawa University-Arizona Spirit came second at 853 (-11), while the Victoria Vikes were third with a team score of 868 (+4).

Chris MacDonald was happy with how his team performed at the tournament, held at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
"I think this is just sort of the beginning of the season for us," said MacDonald. "This is when we're gonna start to make a bit of a push…I feel like there's big things in store for the guys in the spring."
On the individual leaderboard, UBC's
Aidan Schumer won silver with a score of 207 (-9). Grant Greazel of OUAZ earned bronze at 211 (-5), beating out his teammate Gustav Sandstrom on a tiebreaker. Other players to finish the tournament under par were
Mackenzie Bickell of UBC (-2), OUAZ's Kolby Shackelford (-2), Victoria's Owen Croft (-1) and Riley Kirk of the Southern Oregon Raiders (-1).
The Raiders tied the Lewis-Clark State Warriors for fourth on the team leaderboard with a score of 896. The rest of the field included the Oregon Tech Owls (918), Corban Warriors (923), College of Idaho Yotes (925), Walla Walla University Wolves (932), Multnomah Lions (939) and Bushnell Beacons (944).
The next Cascade Conference event isn't until the spring, when Southern Oregon hosts a tournament on April 7th and 8th.
