VICTORIA – The UBC Thunderbirds and host Victoria Vikes went a perfect 3-0 on the first day of the Victoria stop of the Canada West 7s series to lead the six-team field, Feb. 11 at Wallace Field.
 
The Calgary Dinos claimed wins over the Alberta Pandas (19-10) and Lethbridge Pronghorns (19-5) to sit in third place at 2-1, while Trinity Western defeated Alberta (19-7) to take fourth place at 1-2 after the first day of action. Alberta and Lethbridge round out the field with 0-3 records in Victoria.
 
UBC's Savannah Bauder leads the tournament with nine tries and two converts for a total of 42 points over three matches, followed by Calgary's Delaney Aikens with five tries for 25 points. Dinos teammate Katie Salverda leads the tournament with five successful converts, while Victoria's Kira Peary follows closely behind with four.
 
Sunday will feature two rounds of action to wrap up the round robin-style tournament beginning at 11 a.m. on Wallace Field. Below you can find scoring summaries from all three UBC victories:
