SILVIS, ILL – Following an impressive first place performance at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Golf Championship, the UBC Thunderbirds are ready to take a run at a NAIA Championship as they travel to Silvis, Illinois for the four day tournament held at TPC Deere Run from May 17-20th.

The T-Birds began the 2021-22 season by taking six-straight tournaments then hit a bump in the road shortly after their home Zlotnik Open was canceled due to inclement weather.

UBC rebounded well to capture the Vikes Canada West Spring Shootout but ran into a some adversity on their hot and dry trip to Las Vegas, Nevada where they placed sixth at the Paiute Battle. Consecutive second place finishes at the Pacific University and Corban Spring Invitational followed before turning it back into first gear at their conference championship in Eagle Point, Oregon.

The 'Birds captured the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship with a complete team performance to edge Lewis-Clark State by four shots. Russell Howlett's impressive individual tournament led the way with three consecutive low-rounds of 70-74-74.
