Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Larry Read (TRU Wolfpack)

Dhanda is delightful in 'Birds blowout win

KAMLOOPS, BC— The UBC Thunderbirds (5-1-0) ran their winning streak to five games, with a decisive 6-0 victory over the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack. UBC striker Jasmin Dhanda had four goals in the win, while her strike partners Aman Shergill and Danielle Steer chipped in a goal apiece.

"It was a good team performance as we moved the ball well around the field," said UBC head coach Jesse Symons. "It was good to see the team stay motivated through the game and continue to attack."

The Thunderbirds handed TRU their fourth loss in five starts.  UBC outshot TRU 30-10.

Dhanda, Canada West's leading scorer, moved to nine goals on the 2017 campaign. It was UBC's highest scoring match of the year.

"I feel like this is the best forward lineup that we have had in my five years. It's been such a great connection to start this season," said Dhanda. "To start the game we were a little bit static, but as the game went on we started making more movements which is how we are able to break TRU's line. I'm just I'm excited for our future games to come. I feel like a connection is just getting better each week."

UBC will now head down the road to the Okanagan for a Sunday afternoon match-up against the UBCO Heat.
