Thunderbirds travel to Alberta in final road swing

Matchup

As the playoffs approach, the T-Birds are heading to Alberta for their final road trip of the regular season. UBC (7-1-2) will visit the University of Alberta Pandas (7-1-2) on Saturday at 1:00 PM PST before heading down the highway to Calgary to face the Mount Royal Cougars (4-4-2) on Sunday at 10:00 AM PST.

"University of Alberta has had a great season leading the Prairie Division and are very well structured and coached," says Head Coach Jesse Symons. "Mount Royal is fighting for playoff positioning...it will be a tough game on the back to back weekend and we will be looking to have players ready to go to compete for the result."

The 'Birds fell 3-2 to the Pandas in Edmonton last year, and downed the Cougars 5-0 at Thunderbird Stadium.

Coach's take

"The team has been performing at a consistent level all year and we are excited for the next step in the season. There is still lots of jostling for position in the division and every point will matter down the stretch starting with this weekend away. We have a very healthy roster which is really good at this time of year heading into our final trip and we will continue to manage minutes for all players with the great depth our squad has."
