The Matchup

 
UBC opens the home portion of their 2016 schedule this Friday and Saturday with games versus the Mount Royal Cougars and the MacEwan Griffins respectively.


 
UBC and Mount Royal last played in 2013 when the Thunderbirds defeated the Cougars 2-0 at Thunderbird Stadium.
 
Saturday will be the first ever Canada West match-up between the UBC Thunderbirds and the MacEwan Griffins.

Mount Royal and MacEwan will both be playing their season openers when they take on UBC this weekend.

Rachel Jones – (#18, M) - the versatile Oregon State transfer played a dynamic two-way game versus the Vikes. Jones was dangerous all game, recording four shots at net.


 
Aman Shergill – (#7, D) – the fourth year Kinesiology major lead the UBC backline to a season opening shutout of UVic. She was also jumping up into the attack and involved in several Thunderbird scoring chances.
