NEW WESTMINSTER – Current Winnipeg Blue Bomber and former UBC Thunderbird Taylor Loffler is the Canada West Football Alumnus of the Month for August after helping the Bombers to a 3-0 record over the past month.
 
Loffler, who was a key part of UBC's Vanier Cup run in 2015 as a defensive back, had a breakout month for Winnipeg, as the Bombers earned wins over Montreal, Toronto and Hamilton.

The Kelowna, BC native picked off a pair of passes this past month, added a forced fumble and racked up 17 defensive tackles.
 
It was a breakout stretch for Loffler and the Bombers, who sit third in the CFL's West Division and ride a four-game winning streak heading into their Labour Day weekend matchup against the Saskatchewan Roughriders (Saturday, Sept. 10 – 2 p.m. SK).

The 2016 Canada West football season kicks off Thursday, Sept. 1 (7 p.m. CT) when the Dinos travel to Winnipeg to take on the University of Manitoba Bisons. The game can be seen live on Shaw TV.
