Thunderbirds season comes to a close at A.I.I. Conference Tournament

Lawrenceville, GA - The UBC Thunderbirds softball season came to close Friday afternoon in Lawrenceville, Georgia as the Thunderbirds lost 5-1 to University of Houston-VIctoria at the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference Tournament.

Scoreless through two innings of play, Houston-Victoria scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning to take full control.

Haley Beam hit a bases loaded three-run double and then would score on a throwing error to make it 4-0.

A.I.I. Rookie of the Year Katie Sherlock singled home Shayla Kaplen in the fourth inning for UBC's lone run of the game. 

The Jaguars would add one more run in the fifth inning as Beam picked up her fourth RBI of the day with a sacrifice fly scoring Savannah Crittenden.

5-1 was the final.

Lindsey Ogilvie gave up five earned runs on seven hits over six innings of work.

Madison Garza earned the victory for Houston-Victoria scattering five hits over seven innings of work while striking out two and walking two.

The Thunderbirds finished the 2015 season 14-27.
