VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds women's soccer team is on the road this weekend to begin non-conference play.
Today at 1 p.m., UBC will face the Thompson Rivers WolfPack , defending champions of the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST). The game will be played in Chilliwack.
Last August, UBC shutout TRU 3-0 in Chilliwack during non-conference play.
UBC will then head to Kelowna, where it will face UBC Okanagan in a match on Sunday at 1 p.m.
On Wednesday, Aug. 22, UBC will head to Cloverdale to meet Surrey United SC, winners of the last nine provincial championships. That game is at 8 p.m.
The Thunderbirds head back out onto the road for a noon matchup against Central Washington University (NCAA Division II) in Ellensburg, Wash. on Saturday, Aug. 25.
UBC's final two non-conference games will be at home.
On Wednesday, Aug. 29, the Thunderbirds will face the Falcons of Langara College at 8 p.m. The game will be played at Thunderbird Park.
The next night, Victoria will visit David Sidoo Field at Thunderbird Stadium for a 6 p.m. game.
UBC will then regroup for its first two regular season soccer games of 2012. The team hosts Calgary on Friday, Sept. 7 and Lethbridge on Saturday, Sept. 8.
All home games, except Saturday, Oct. 13, will be played at T-Bird Stadium.
