VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds women's softball team will wrap up the 2012 regular season with a game against the Simon Fraser Clan on Tuesday at Richmond's London Park.
 
The first pitch will be at 6 p.m.  A game originally scheduled for 4 p.m. has been cancelled.

UBC enters Tuesday's game with a record of 13-24-1, having not played since April 1 at the Simon Fraser Invitational.  On that day, the Thunderbirds dropped a 5-3 decision to Great Falls and were then shutout by SFU 8-0.
 
Senior shortstop Jess Hodge (4th, Vancouver, BC) will be honoured for her UBC career on Tuesday.  This season, she is the team's leader in home runs (8), runs batted in (35), hits (45), batting average (.413) and slugging percentage (.679).
 
Molly Gosnell (3rd, Sunnyvale, CA) is second in RBI's with 18 and leads UBC with eight doubles so far in 2012.
 
Pitcher Nicole Day (3rd, Surrey, BC) leads the Thunderbirds in every major statistical category, and also has the distinction of throwing the school's first-ever no-hitter earlier this year.
 
Rookie Jamie Randall (1st, Richmond, BC) has been impressive in pitching a team-high 61.1 innings, winning four games and saving two.

The Simon Fraser Clan have won six of their last games. Kelsey Haberl leads the Clan with a .472 batting average and 31 walks while Leah Riske tops all SFU players with seven home runs and 32 runs batted in.  Trisha Bouchard also has seven homers this season.

SFU sports two impressive starting pitchers.  Cara Lukawesky has a 17-6 record and an earned run average (ERA) of 2.51 while Kelsie Hawkins is 11-6 with a 2.54 ERA.
