VANCOUVER - UBC women's soccer player
Janine Frazao (Port Moody, BC) has been named a First Team All-Canadian for the second straight year. The forward won the honour tonight at the All-Canadian Banquet in Victoria.
She scored 13 goals and recorded 17 points this season, placing her second in the league in both categories. Frazao won the Canada West's Player of the Year prize last week.
As a result, she was also up for the Chantal Navert Memorial Award tonight, but the national player of the year award was given to Gillian Baggott of Ottawa.
Teammate
Kelly Cook (Maple Ridge, BC) capped off her career by being named to the Second Team
Cook anchored a stellar UBC defence, which gave up just five goals in the nine regular season games in which she appeared. Cook also chipped in offensively with two goals, both game-winners.
Last year, she was a First Team All-Canadian.
