VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds men's hockey team host the No. 7 Calgary Dinos this weekend for two games at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre. It will be the second time in a month that the Dinos have visited Vancouver. The Thunderbirds' first four home games in 2011-12 are against the Dinos.

UBC returns home after a split at Regina. The Thunderbirds lost on Friday by a 5-1 count but bounced back the next night to win 3-2 in overtime, with
Scott Wasden scoring the winner with just over a minute left.
Max Grassi and
Michael Wilgosh got the other goals in the win. Grassi is the only Thunderbird in the top 15 in Canada West scoring but UBC has had a balanced scoring attack so far this season with Wasden and
Cole Wilson averaging a point a game while Wilgosh and
Justin McCrae have scored four and three goals respectively.
Jordan White made 25 saves in the win over Regina as he and
Steven Stanford continue to provide UBC with solid goaltending.
The Thunderbirds have picked up just 48 minutes in penalties, by far the fewest in the league.

The Calgary Dinos return to Vancouver on a hot streak, having won four straight games.
Offensively, the Dinos' scoring leader is Taylor Stefishen, who has eight points in five games. He turned on the red light three times against UBC in week one.
Defenceman Teigan Zahn has eight points in eight games. Six of those points came against UBC on the first weekend of the season.
Brock Nixon and Dylan Hood are also averaging a point a game after eight matches.
The Dinos are also one of the stingiest teams in the Canada West, giving up just 18 goals so far this year. Both Calgary goalies are in the top four in goals against average.
Last weekend, Calgary swept southern Alberta rivals, Lethbridge, by scores of 5-1 and 4-1.
