VANCOUVER - A 35th minute goal from Gagandeep Dosanjh helped the No. 3 UBC Thunderbirds men's soccer team to a 1-1 draw in Calgary against the Dinos on Saturday afternoon.
The hometown Dinos went ahead just 13 minutes into the game when Izak Lawrence scored.
But just like their previous encounter with Calgary, the Thunderbirds were able to make up the early deficit.
The draw clinches a playoff spot for UBC (7-1-5).
However, the 'Birds have fallen three points behind Victoria in the race for the first in the Canada West standings with a game remaining for both teams.
UBC holds the tie-breaker between the two squads and will end the regular season with a game at Lethbridge on Sunday.
The Vikes will travel to playoff-bound Alberta for their final conference game.
Calgary (6-5-2) is fighting for a post-season spot and will need to beat the Trinity Western Spartans on Sunday to clinch the fourth and final berth in the Canada West.
