REGINA - Matt Strueby scored twice as the University of Regina's men's hockey team cruised to a 5-1 win on Friday night over the UBC Thunderbirds in a Canada West game at The Co-operators Centre in Regina.
Tyler Henry, Tyler Penny, and Ryan Sawka also scored for the Cougars, who improve their Canada West record to 2-5-0 on the season.
Rookie goaltender Lucas Gore made 28 saves for Regina and kept UBC off the board until the Thunderbirds'
Wyatt Hamilton scored with less than three minutes left in the third. Henry added two assists for a three-point night, while Craig Cuthbert also had two helpers.
UBC, which moves to 2-1-2 after suffering its first regulation loss of the season, outshot the Cougars by a 29-27 margin.
