VICTORIA – The No. 7-ranked UBC Thunderbirds handed the UVic Vikes their first loss of the season by a score of 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, unleashing three second-half goals in the span of 11 minutes.
The scoreless game was blown wide open in the 75th minute when T-Birds striker 
Lisa Furutani scored unassisted, chipping over Vikes' keeper Stephanie Parker.

Janine Frazao struck six minutes later and Furutani added the insurance marker in the 85th minute.

Leah Peric recorded the clean sheet while UBC outshot the Victoria 22-5.
 
The win improves the Thunderbirds record to 5-2-1 on the season. These same two teams will match-up again next weekend, this time at Thunderbird Park.  Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00pm on Friday, October 8th.
