VANCOUVER - Two BC men's volleyball rivals will take to the hardwood for a pair of exhibition matches this weekend as they prepare for the start of the 2010-11 CIS season. The UBC Thunderbirds and Thompson Rivers University WolfPack have scheduled pre-season games on October 15 and 16 in the lower mainland.
The duel on Friday will be hosted by Fleetwood Park Secondary (7940 - 156th St. Surrey, B.C.) at the high school's gym with first serve at 7:00 p.m.. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students with all the money going to support Fleetwood Park Athletics.
On Saturday, the two squads will face-off at UBC's War Memorial Gym. Regular ticket prices will apply at this game and first serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
Last weekend the T-Birds took down the UBCO Heat 3-1 and 3-0 in a pair of exhibition games. Rookie

Richard Schick continues to tinker with his squad that features six newcomers, many of whom are expected to make big impacts in 2010-11.
TRU is coming off a disappointing pre-season performance over the Thanksgiving weekend with a pair of 3-0 losses to the TWU Sparants. The 'Pack do have a 3-0 win over UBCO on their resume in October, however, without injured standout Kevin Tillie in the line-up, TRU has yet to find consistent success with their attack.
UBC opens their Canada West regular season at home against Trinity Western on October 29 and 30.
