UBC goalkeeper Richard Meister was named the Canada West second star of the week. He recorded two shutouts this past weekend as his Thunderbirds defeated Winnipeg and Mt. Royal at home in Vancouver.

On Friday night, Meister turned aside three Wesmen shots in a 2-0 win, while on Saturday, he recorded his third straight clean sheet in a 3-0 UBC victory.

The fourth-year Arts student from Port Moody, B.C. now sports a record of 3-0 and has not yet given up a goal.

The No. 1-ranked team in Canada, UBC will have a bye week, having already clinched first place in the Canada West Pacific Division and the right to host the conference championship tournament.
