Kevin Biro, a junior from Deep Bay, B.C., was the offensive leader for UBC as the Thunderbirds completed a four-game road sweep of Concordia (Ore.) in Portland, Ore this past weekend. UBC improved to 13-5 on the season and 6-2 in NAIA West play. The team is tied for first in the NAIA West standings with Lewis-Clark State.
The native of Deep Bay, B.C. went 11-for-21 at the plate over the weekend, driving in six runs and scoring four more. His seven at-bats in the series finale tied a UBC school record for most plate appearances in one game.
Biro is having a stellar season thus far, leading the Thunderbirds in hitting average (.410), hits (32) and RBI (16).
Next up for the Thunderbirds is a doubleheader versus Thompson Rivers University Wednesday March 19th at Thunderbird Park for beginning at 1:00 pm.
