Reigning Canada West Most Valuable Player Kris Young recorded a pair of double-doubles to lead the UBC Thunderbirds to a road sweep of the Mt. Royal Cougars in Calgary on the weekend.
 
On Friday night, Young scored 27 points on 12 of 18 shooting and added 10 rebounds and three steals to pace the Thunderbirds in a 67-55 victory.
 
The next night, the North Vancouver, B.C. native recorded 20 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals in another outstanding all-around performance as UBC beat Mt. Royal 67-59.
 
The fourth-year Arts student is now fifth in Canada West scoring.
 
UBC (9-5) will host UNBC at War Memorial Gymnasium in Vancouver this weekend.
