UBC Thunderbirds senior Christine Ausman launched the third-longest javelin throw in the NAIA this year at Saturday’s UBC Open in Vancouver. 

Ausman, a native of Ottawa, claimed first place at the meet with a best attempt of 42.90 metres.

Last season she finished fourth at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The Thunderbirds will host the UBC Invitational on Friday, April 3 in Vancouver.
