Playing in her first-ever CIS playoff game, rookie Jasmin Dhanda rose to the occasion by scoring both UBC goals in a 2-1 Thunderbirds victory over the Calgary Dinos on Saturday. For her efforts she was named the Canada West 3rd Star of the Week.
 
The quarter-final playoff victory gave UBC a spot at the Canada West Final Four this weekend in Victoria.
 
Dhanda opened the scoring in the 49th minute when she, standing in the middle of the 18-yard box, one-timed a Janine Frazao cross into the bottom corner of the net.
 
The Dinos tied the game a minute later to set up Dhanda's heroics in the 83^rd.
 
Dhanda received a pass from Nicole Sydor in stride on the right wing, and turned the corner on her defender to earn a clean break on goal. She carried the ball to just outside the six-yard box before popping it over Dinos goalkeeper Lauren Good to put UBC on top for good.
 
The Surrey, B.C. Native scored five times in the regular season to finish the year tied for first on the team in goals.
