LONDON, Ont. – There was plenty of blue and gold featured prominently on the snow crested course of the Canadian Cross Country Championships in London, Ontario Saturday.
UBC Law student and former Thunderbird
Andrew Davies won the men's senior 10 kilometre title, his time of 30:38.3 tops among the field of 85 of this country's best endurance athletes.

Holly MacGillivray – fresh off an eight place finish at the U SPORTS Championship race in Kelowna – placed sixth in London, completing the 10 kilometre course in a time of 37:08.3.
First-year
Zoe Unger placed 19
th in the women's U20 division, running the eight kilometre race in 32:33.4 while second-year
Mateo Aldana placed 26
th in the men's U20 division.
Not far behind Davies in the men's senior race were a pair of other T-Bird alumni in John Gay and Thomas Broach who finished fifth and sixth, respectively, helping the Vancouver Thunderbirds club to the overall team title.
Jaiveer Tiwana completed an outstanding cross country season with a 15
th place finish, just three weeks after earning sixth at the U SPORTS meet. Fellow T-Birds teammates
Dylan Uhrich and
Sacha Schimmelpenninck crossed the line in 27
th and 28
th, respectively.
UBC alumna and multiple NAIA Track and Field champion Kiana Gibson placed seventh in the women's senior race, just over one second behind MacGillivray.
Amelia Pfohl placed 12
th and
Rachel Mortimer was 19
th as the women also earned the team title under the Vancouver Thunderbirds banner.
