The Habitat for Humanity Global VillageTrip to El Salvador was the vision of UBC basketball alumni Bill Humphries. Bill came home from El Salvador after volunteering with a Global Village program in 2008, and was inspired by the idea of partnering with the UBC athletics department in providing an opportunity for ten varsity athletes and a coach to have a “Habitat Global Village Experience”. From May 1-15, 2011 his vision was realized. Team members on the inaugural trip were:
