VANCOUVER - The UBC Thunderbirds football team has moved up to No. 6 in the FRC-CIS Top 10 rankings, which came out today.
The ranking is the highest for UBC since the final poll of the 1999 season, released on November 8.
The Thunderbirds spent that entire season ranked in the top five.
It was also the last year UBC hosted a playoff game, a 31-24 loss in the Hardy Cup to Saskatchewan.
These two teams will meet again on Saturday when the Thunderbirds host the No. 10 Huskies in a Canada West semi-final game.
Kick off is at 2:00 p.m. at Thunderbird Stadium.
Box office opens at 1:00pm.
