Caitlin completed her full 5 years of athletic eligibility as a UBC Thunderbird swimmer from 2002 through until 2007.  First recognized in her 2002-2003 season, Caitlin was awarded CIS (now USPORT) Rookie of the year. Her athletic success was well accompanied by strong leadership skills, culminating in her service as team captain for her 5th and final season in 2006-2007.

A member of the prestigious "5-for-5" club, Caitlin competed during the UBC Swimming "Decade of Dominance", winning  5 CIS team championship  titles in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. She is one of the winningest UBC Thunderbirds to ever come through the program, having won 26 medals at CIS Championships (10G, 7S, 9B), averaging more than 5 medals per championship. She was named a CIS All-Canadian for all 5 years of her varsity athletic career.

In 2005, Caitlin was the recipient of the Thunderbird Athletics Council's High-Performance Athlete award - a council in which she was a member from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, she was awarded with another high-profile award, winning the B.C. Premier's Female University Athletic Award.

Caitlin's collegiate successes were accompanied by achievement on the international stage. She competed in 3 editions of the World Student Games: 2003 (Daegu, S. Korea), 2005 (Izmir, Turkey) and 2007 (Bangkok, Thailand) and won a silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

Not  only was  Caitlin a successful athlete, she was an exceptional student as well. She  completed a Bachelor's of Science in Cellular Biology and  Genetics  and  was  named an Academic All-Canadian in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine at UBC from 2008 to 2013.

Caitlin remained involved  with sports, serving as the UBC Swimming  team manager  in the 2008 varsity season, and as UBC Dental  School's  sports representative from 2009  to 2013. Since 2013, Caitlin has continued to be a consistent supporter of the UBC Thunderbirds as a regular donor to the program. Her professional endeavors have brought her all around the globe, volunteering to help underprivileged communities by providing free dental services in Uganda, Brazil, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Caitlin was an extremely successful athlete on the varsity and international stage. Her collegiate and international successes were complimented but her academic successes in science and dentistry. Beyond her years of athletic eligibility, Caitlin demonstrated commitment to fostering supporting athletic environments while serving as UBC Swimming's team manager and UBC Dentistry's sports representative.
